Common Core Textbook Fraud

The Common Core Curriculum, which is being quietly implemented in public schools across the United States, is engaging in fraud in their teaching of the U.S. Constitution.  The Common Core textbook, United States History,published by the Amsco Division of Perfect Learning, does not include the actual text of the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights within its pages, but rather it offers  “summaries” which consist of mendacious interpretations that reveal a political agenda. 

Whether one is liberal or conservative, all Americans should expect their children’s textbooks to be historically accurate. If our vulnerable children are being taught from textbooks that contain deliberate lies, then how can we expect our children to develop any sense of honesty?  

On the First Amendment, Common Core writes: 

Congress may make no laws that infringe upon a citizen’s right to freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.

Congress may not favor one religion over another (separation of church and state).

The actual text reads: 

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the

freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a

redress of grievances. 

Besides slanting the text by leaving out the right to free exercise of religion, Common Core includes the term separation of church and state, even though this does not exist in the first amendment. 

On the Second Amendment, Common Core writes:  

The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia. 

The actual text reads: 

A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. 

This is a lie by omission as Common Core air-brushes out:  the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. 

This is only the tip of the Common Core iceberg and Chuck Morse intends on investigating further. Parents should take back the education of their children from this national cabal of educators. States and communities are being bribed to scuttle curriculum in favor of national standards.  

The democratic approach is for the parents to elect school board members who represent their values, and for those elected officials to then determine the best curriculum for their communities. Whether a local community is liberal or conservative, the citizens of that community, who pay for the public schools with their tax dollars, have a natural right to decide what is in the best interests of their own sons and daughters when it comes to education.  

We as a people should trust ourselves to govern ourselves especially when it comes something as critical as the education of our children. We should not trust this national bureaucracy of unaccountable appointees to know what is best for our children.
